Turning the Tide On the Clyde

Brought to you by social enterprise the Clyde Docks Preservation Initiative (CDPI), Turning the Tide on the Clyde is a new annual programme listing of cultural events along the tidal River and Firth of Clyde. It covers Central Glasgow to the Ayrshire and Kintyre coasts, the Clyde islands and sea lochs.

It is a celebration of the Clyde, the rich history of the river; its biodiversity; its communities and activities that take place through organisations, groups and the local business sector. The programme has a core maritime theme but is so much more than that.

The programme is launching for events taking place from summer 2022 and will aim to support event organisers to recover from the impact of the Covid-19 crisis on the recreational sector.

Mapping the recreational resources of the Clyde...

Since April 2021 we have been working alongside Glasgow Caledonian University to develop a mapping process - mapping existing activities, stakeholders and resources in the region, to support development of the Turning the Tide On the Clyde programme.

Once integrated into our website, the map will provide an interactive resource enabling our users to spatially explore the resources of the Clyde - through the events and attractions included in the Turning the Tide On the Clyde website and future programmes.

The mapping also supports CDPI's research and development to further develop the Turning the Tide On the Clyde programme as well as developing a knowledge base for the Clyde.
